Job description

The Technician Position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Hourly Compensation of between $16.90 and $17.05 and flag rates between $32.00 and $38.00. The position also may also pay a production bonus based on individual or team performance that may range from $0.00 (if baseline benchmarks are not met) without any fixed upper limit.

Position Purpose

The Service Technician is responsible for the proper diagnosis and repair of customer and dealership vehicles and the completion of assigned repair orders in an effective and competent manner according to manufacturer standards.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Communicate with service advisors and dispatch to clearly and properly articulating customer concerns needed to be addressed.
• Ensure that repairs and maintenance work are completed on time and as the customer has requested.
• Performs other duties as requested & assigned to assure smooth functioning of service department.
• Perform automotive repairs, follow multi point inspection forms and Quik video Test batteries, verify proper floor mat installation.
• Technicians are responsible for performing light custodial tasks to keep workshop clean & presentable.
• Meeting or exceeding the dealership’s goals regarding Repair Quality Index(RQI) and Delivery Quality Index (DQI)
• Properly use the special tools and equipment provided by the service department.
• Produce quality work that evidences pride of workmanship.
• Meeting or exceeding the dealerships goals for Service Technician efficiency.
• Maintain ASE certification as required
• Maintain a “Certified” status in the Lexus Commitment to Perfection Certification Program.
• Adhere to Warranty policies & procedures when perform repairs & for proper documentation.
• Ensure that customers’ vehicles are returned to them as clean as they were prior to being serviced
• Operates all tools & equipment in a safe manner.
• Must follow all company safety policies & procedures and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor.
• Maintain current awareness of the requirements of state and federal laws dealing with automobile repair and consumer protection.
• Adhere to work schedule and arrive at work before your scheduled start time and be at your work station productively engaged by the scheduled time.
• Safeguard customer and Dealer information per established policy.
• Complies with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety and personal protection equipment as required.
• Adhere to established dress code policy at all times.
