SUMMARY:

The purpose of this position is to learn facility tasks and carry out daily plans to maintain efficient operation of the plant. This position will uphold the Mission and Motto and Food Safety and Quality Statement of the Mennel Milling Company.

PRIMARY WORK SHIFT:

Works shift as assigned and overtime as required. 4pm to 2:30am. Requires weekends and potential holidays.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Follow all food and personal safety rules and regulations in respect to GMPs, OSHA, HACCP, the Global Food Safety Initiative, the US FDA Food Safety Modernization Act as stated in the FS&Q Statement, and sanitation guidelines as set forth by the company. Attend all required training sessions. Maintain the department/facility in an audit-ready condition.
• Operate machinery on a production line, including high-speed packaging equipment.
• Follow all food safety and personal safety rules and regulations.
• Perform all required checks, including visual checks and product size and weight checks.
• Immediately communicate any deviation from standards to Team Leader.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement activities and attend off-shift meetings as required.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory duties.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to lift 50-65 pounds frequently, climb stairs and ladders.
• Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, procedures, and plans. Ability to write, complete checklists and other basic documentation and correspondence. Effectively present information or data in one-on-one and small group situations to co-workers, supervisors, and managers.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Must use solid judgment when making decisions. Ability to recognize and plan for changing work duties and events quickly.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands for maintenance tasks, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. Occasionally lift/move up to 50+ pounds. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment

Exposed to conditions typical of a fast-paced manufacturing environment: moving equipment/machinery, dusty, hot/humid, cold conditions; work in all weather, at heights, and around airborne particles. Noise level usually requires hearing protection. Exposure to wheat allergens.
