Job summary

HOODZ of Iowa is seeking a Technician 2 (Crew Lead) to head an overnight crew responsible for removing grease from kitchen exhaust hoods, ducts, and fans. We train you on our processes, with night work Monday through Thursday and flexible start times based on jobs.

You will guide your crew to meet efficiency and quality goals, develop junior technicians, document each job with photos and notes in our app, and keep tools and vans organized for the next assignment.

Qualifications

• Must have leadership experience.
• Able to perform physically demanding tasks (lift 50 lbs, climb, kneel, stand).
• Willingness to work overnights (Mon–Thu 5pm–9am).
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Must pass pre-employment drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

• Shine hoods and ensure a clean kitchen after each job.

We are already one of the largest and best hood cleaners in central Iowa. Our vision is to be the largest and best hood cleaner in all of Iowa. We need dedicated, hardworking leaders who take pride in a job well done to help us meet this goal.

As a Technician 2 (Crew Lead), you will be responsible for leading an overnight crew to remove all grease from commercial kitchen hood systems. No previous hood cleaning experience required, we will train you on the cleaning processes you need to thrive. We work Monday through Thursday with varying start times based on that night's jobs.

The Job

• Responsible for removing all grease from kitchen exhaust hoods, ducts, and fans using scrapers, chemicals, and pressure washers
• Shine the hood so it sparkles
• Wow the customer by leaving the kitchen cleaner than when you arrived
• Guide your crew to meet efficiency and quality goals
• Help develop junior technicians towards advancement
• Complete multiple jobs throughout the night
• Use our app to document each job with pictures and notes
• Keep your tools and van clean and organized
• Solve issues by using what you learned and your experience, referring to process, and collaborating with other technicians

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities

• Be nice! I know, we shouldn't have to say that, but we mean it
• Prior leadership experience
• Able to bend, climb, kneel and stand for long periods
• Physically able to lift 50lbs
• Available to work overnight Monday - Thursday between 5pm and 9am
• Willingness and ability to use a 24-foot extension ladder to access rooftops
• Willingness to go onto tall roofs to complete jobs
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
• Eligible to legally work in the United States

Compensation

• During 3-Month Training: $22 per hour
• After Training: Up to $27 per hour based on performance
