Job summary

Onward Search is seeking a Technician 2 to support the development engineering team for a defense and aerospace project in Alabama. This on-site, temporary role focuses on electronics and electro-mechanical systems, performing testing, troubleshooting, and assembly under supervision.

You will follow schematics and use oscilloscopes and signal generators to collect data, conduct environmental tests, and help with fault isolation. Prior electronics training is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or electronics certificate; military electronics training accepted.
• Training in ESD, safety, and FOD prevention within first year.
• Ability to troubleshoot, test, and repair using schematics and test equipment.
• Good teamwork and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Soldering experience and basic computer skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine testing, troubleshooting, and assembly of electronic and electro-mechanical systems under supervision.

• Conduct operational tests and identify malfunctions to ensure specifications are met.

A leading defense and aerospace technology company is hiring a Technician 2 to support their development engineering team. This on-site temporary role offers the opportunity to work on electronics and electro-mechanical systems, contributing to innovative projects that ensure safety and security.

• Perform routine testing, troubleshooting, and assembly of electronic and electro-mechanical systems under supervision.
• Follow schematics, diagrams, and written instructions to conduct environmental testing and prototype assembly.
• Conduct operational tests and identify malfunctions down to the component level to ensure specifications are met.
• Collect data during defined engineering tests and utilize diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscopes and signal generators.
• Support development projects by performing assembly, modification, and fault isolation tasks.

Technician 2 Qualifications:

• Associate Degree in Electronics or a short electronics certificate, or military electronics training with proof of electronic theory knowledge.
• Training within one year of employment in ESD, safety, and FOD prevention.
• Ability to troubleshoot, test, and repair electronic devices using schematics and test equipment.
• Good teamwork skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
• Experience in soldering and basic computer skills are a plus.
