Job summary

Intertek in York, PA, is seeking an entry-level Thermal Technician to join our fenestration testing team. You will perform physical thermal testing on windows and doors, with on-the-job training and opportunities for growth.

This hands-on role requires attention to detail and the ability to work with limited supervision. Responsibilities include assisting with test sample setup, managing test dates and invoicing, analyzing results, and preparing concise reports.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience using hand tools preferred.
• Technical and mechanical competency to understand procedures, specs, and results.
• Ability to read client drawings, specifications and details.
• Forklift training/certification preferred.
• Basic Microsoft Office knowledge.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, climb stairs/ladders, lift 50 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.

Thermal Technician willperformphysical thermal testing a variety of fenestration (windows and doors) products. This is an entry level, hands-on position in a team environment. We’re looking for an individual who can perform tasks with limited supervision while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and integrity all with a keen eye and attention to detail.

What you will do:

• Assist current staff with test sample setup, breakdown, and disposal following all associated standards and methods
• Self-manage all assigned jobs through internal job network (test dates, invoicing, etc.)
• Analyze test results and write accurate and concise test reports that summarize the test procedures and results
• Communicate with clients regarding scheduling, procedures, and results

What it takes to be successful in this role:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience using hand tools - preferred
• Technical and mechanical competency to understand and communicate test procedures, specifications, and results
• Ability to read and comprehend client provided drawings, specifications and details
• Previous forklift training/certification - preferred
• Basic Microsoft Office knowledge and functionality
• Physical ability to stand for an extended period of time, climb stairs/ladders (bend, lift, crawl, stoop, reach overhead or behind you)
• Understanding of how to read and use a tape measure accurately
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record (required)
