Job summary

Intertek's Thermal Department in York, PA is seeking a Thermal Technician to support hands-on thermal testing of windows and doors. This entry-level role offers on-the-job training in a team environment with growth opportunities.

You will assist with test setup, run tests, document results, and communicate with clients on scheduling and findings. A high school diploma or GED and basic tool skills are required; forklift training is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience using hand tools is preferred.
• Technical and mechanical competency to understand and communicate test procedures, specifications, and results.
• Ability to read and comprehend client drawings, specifications and details.
• Previous forklift training/certification is preferred.
• Basic Microsoft Office knowledge and functionality.
• Physical ability to stand for an extended period, climb stairs/ladders, bend, lift, crawl, stoop, reach overhead or behind.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record (required).

Responsibilities

• Assist current staff with test sample setup, breakdown, and disposal following all associated standards and methods.
• Self-manage all assigned jobs through internal job network (test dates, invoicing, etc.).
• Analyze test results and write accurate and concise test reports that summarize the test procedures and results.
• Communicate with clients regarding scheduling, procedures, and results.
