Job summary

Oerlikon is seeking a Technician 1 to join our Rock Hill, SC facility to set up and monitor coating machines, prepare systems, load/unload chambers, and input process parameters. You will pre-treat customer products and manage chamber loads while using analytical thinking and creativity to ensure successful coatings.

Responsibilities include operating coating equipment, maintaining records, training staff, and collaborating with Quality to address issues.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED or equivalent experience.
• Prior machine operator experience preferred.
• Effective verbal/writing skills.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of products.
• Strong communication skills.
• The employee is frequently required to repetitively use/reach with hands and arms.
• The employee may be required to lift, stack, push, pull and/or move items weighing up to 40 pounds.

• Perform daily changeover maintenance of pre/post treatment equipment.
• Optimize the daily use of production equipment.
• Follow standard procedures and interpret customer work instructions.

• Learn new skills and cross-train into various departments.

• Use fixturing and defixturing techniques to build and breakdown loads.

• Perform other duties as required and assigned to assure customer satisfaction.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled Technician 1 for our Rock Hill, SC facility. This person will be responsible for the set up and monitoring of the Coating Machines. The main responsibility is to prepare the coating system, load, unload the chamber, change the magnetic systems, and input process parameters in the operator screen. This individual will pre-treat a variety of customer products using standardized methods to prepare products for coating. Person will use analytical thinking and a high degree of creativity to oversee and assemble chamber loads based on customer specifications. As part of their regular responsibilities, this person will make critical processing decisions, to initiate the coating process as well as be responsible for disassembling and reconfiguring the chamber for subsequent loads.
