Job summary

Oerlikon is seeking a Coating Technician for the Lake Orion, MI area to operate and monitor coating machines on the 3rd shift. You will set up the coating system, load and unload the chamber, adjust magnetic systems, and input process parameters on the operator screen.

Responsibilities include pre-treating customer products, evaluating instructions, assembling chamber loads, and making critical processing decisions to initiate coating and reconfigure chambers for subsequent loads.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior machine operator experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily changeover maintenance of pre/post treatment equipment.
• Optimize the daily use of production equipment.
• Follow standard procedures and interpret customer work instructions.
• Collaborate with Quality and Center Management to identify and address quality concerns.
• Provide training and assistance to employees on equipment operation and maintenance.
• Learn new skills and cross-train into various departments.
• Operate and maintain coating equipment according to specifications.
• Use fixturing and defixturing techniques to build and breakdown loads.
• Maintain and update equipment records.
• Assist with quality assurance and other technical matters as required.
• Perform other duties as required and assigned to assure customer satisfaction.

We are looking for a CoatingTechnicianfor our Lake Orion, MI. I n this role, youwill be responsible for the set up and monitoring of the Coating Machines. The Main responsibility is to prepare the coating system, load, unload the chamber, change the magnetic systems, and input process parameters in the operator screen. This Individual will pre-treat a variety of customer products using standardized methods to prepare products for coating. Person will use analytical thinking and a high degree of creativity to oversee and assemble chamber loads based on customer specifications. As part of his/her regular responsibilities, this person will make critical processing decisions, to initiate the coating process as well as be responsible for disassembling and reconfiguring the chamber for subsequent loads.

Your Profile:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior machine operator experience preferred
• Ability to read/write/speak English
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of products

• Must be energetic, goals-driven, result-oriented, and high-energy to be effective in this role.
• The employee is frequently required to repetitively use/reach with hands and arms.
