Job summary

Marion Eye Centers in Sikeston, MO is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to greet patients, take histories, and prepare them for exams in a fast-paced clinic.

You will perform basic eye tests, assist doctors, manage EHR data entry, and help maintain our exam rooms while delivering compassionate patient care. Training is available; prior eye care or medical office experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in eye care or medical office preferred; training available.

Responsibilities:

• Greet patients, obtain medical histories, and prepare them for exams.
• Perform preliminary eye tests such as visual acuity, refraction, visual fields, and tonometry.
• Assist doctors with eye exams, minor procedures, and treatments.
• Maintain and clean instruments and equipment.
• Educate patients on eye health, medications, and post-procedure care.
• Enter accurate data into electronic health records (EHR).
• Ensure exam rooms are stocked and organized.
• Support a smooth clinical flow by coordinating with doctors and other team members.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in eye care or a medical office preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Attention to detail with a focus on patient care and accuracy.
