Job summary

Omics Empower in Darien, IL seeks a Research Associate to perform hands-on multi-omics experiments, from sample prep to sequencing workflow support, QC, and documentation. You will contribute to optimization efforts across Single-Cell Sequencing, Spatial Transcriptomics, and Metabolomics programs.

The role requires a biology or life-sciences background, attention to detail, and collaboration with a global team.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in at least one of: Single-Cell Sequencing, Spatial Transcriptomics, or Metabolomics.
• Experience with NGS / molecular biology workflows.
• Bachelor's degree in Biology or related life-sciences field; Master's degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform sample preparation and nucleic acid extraction for multi-omics experiments.
• Conduct library preparation and sequencing workflow support.
• Provide quality control, documentation, and experimental optimization.
• Maintain organized bench and adhere to lab standards (5S).
• Collaborate with teams across global locations to support projects.

Omics Empower is a global biotech CRO specializing in multi-omics research, including single-cell sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, metabolomics, and NGS. Their work has supported 500+ peer-reviewed publications, including research published in Nature, Science, and Cell.

What we're looking for:

• Hands-on experience in at least ONE: Single-Cell Sequencing, Spatial Transcriptomics, or Metabolomics
• Experience with NGS / molecular biology workflows
• Bachelor's degree in Biology or a related life-sciences field — Master's is a plus!
• 5S is your lab love language: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize & Sustain. An organized bench = happy science!
• Detail-oriented, patient, collaborative, and someone who genuinely enjoys hands-on bench work

What will you actually be doing?

You’ll be hands-on in the lab working with biological samples and supporting multi-omics experiments from start to finish — including sample preparation, nucleic acid extraction, library preparation, sequencing workflow support, quality control, documentation, and experimental optimization.

In other words: this isn't a "sit behind a computer and analyze the data" position. We want the person who actually enjoys doing the science.
