Job summary

Omics Empower in Chicago seeks a biology-focused technician to perform core multi-omics experiments, with emphasis on single-cell sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, or metabolomics, following established protocols. You will prepare samples, extract nucleic acids, run libraries, monitor sequencing workflows, perform QC, and document data.

The role requires 5S housekeeping, teamwork, and effective communication; Chinese and English bilingualism is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in biology-related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Hands-on experience in at least one of the focus areas: single-cell sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, or metabolomics.
• Experience with sample processing, quality control, and laboratory experimental procedures is preferred.
• Stable personality with strong hands-on ability and good communication skills.
• Bilingual in Chinese and English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Core Experiment Execution: perform multi-omics workflows with a focus on at least one area (single-cell sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, or metabolomics).
• Execute laboratory experiments according to established protocols (sample prep, nucleic acid extraction, library prep, sequencing support, QC, optimization).
• Maintain 5S workplace organization in the lab.
• Accurately and timely complete experimental data recording per supervisor requirements.
• Assist in testing and optimizing idle-related experiments per supervisor requirements.
• Complete other temporary tasks and collaborate with other departments as required.

Job description

• Core Experiment Execution: Perform multi-omics experimental workflows independently, with a primary focus on executing at least one of the following: single-cell sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, or metabolomics;
• Execute laboratory experiments according to established protocols, including sample preparation, nucleic acid extraction, library preparation, sequencing workflow support, quality control, and experimental optimization;
• Rigorously implement and maintain 5S workplace organization principles (Sort, set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to keep laboratory areas clean, organized, and operating efficiently;
• Cooperate with superiors' requirements, accurately and timely complete experimental data recording;
• Assist in completing the testing and optimization of idle related experiments according to the requirements of the superior supervisor;
• Complete other temporary work arrangements from the company or superiors, and cooperate with other departments to complete related work as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or above in a biology related field (Master's degree preferred);
