Job summary

ServiceMaster Restoration Services is seeking a Contents Technician to assist customers with packing, inventory, disposal of damaged contents and cleaning of personal items impacted by fire, water, or mold. Strong communication and attention to detail are essential, with the ability to document project files and time sheets on site.

This in-field role requires travel to active jobsites, PPE will be provided. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• Must be physically able to perform pack out/cleaning tasks and lift heavy objects.
• Exceptional attention to detail, particularly in cleaning and order processing.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain quality control standards.
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead crew in packing and loading household, textiles or office items onto trucks.
• Process laundry orders including inventorying, sorting, washing, drying, folding, and packaging.
• Ensure items are secured and protected during transport.
• Unload items and assist in unpacking and setting up at destination.
• Clean and deodorize contents affected by a loss.
• Assess and catalog non-restorable contents with approvals from Adjusters.
• Maintain inventory safeguards and monitor assets.
• Communicate effectively with team members and customers.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Contents Technician directly assist our customers with a variety of services including inventory and disposal of damaged contents, processing, packing, and cleaning of personal contents affected by fire damage, water damage, or mold. The Contents Technician must possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, have the ability to effectively utilize technology to document and submit project files and paperwork, including time and crew sheets.

Responsibilities

• Lead crew in packing and loading household , textiles or office items onto trucks
• Process assigned laundry orders completely and on time — Inventorying, sorting, washing, drying, folding, and packaging
• Ensure that all items are properly secured and protected during transport
• Unload items at the destination and assist in unpacking and setting up
• Clean and deodorize contents affected by a loss.
• Assesses and catalogs non-restorable contents while obtaining proper approvals from Adjusters.
• Ensures contents have been processed correctly by completing visual inspections and signing off.
• Monitors the safeguard of inventory within the company’s possession.
• Manipulates customers’ contents in accordance with the job scope and customers’ requests.
• Reports broken or damaged goods to management, completing required documentation.
• Follows industry best practices, ensuring safeguards are being used during content manipulation.
• Communicate effectively with team members and customers
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations
• Other duties as assigned or apparent.

Skills/Qualifications

Work Environment

This is an in-field position that requires frequent travel to and from active jobsites. Jobsites may contain asbestos, microbial growth, lead, or other hazardous materials; personal protective equipment or PPE will be provided. Jobsites may or may not have electricity; expect to work in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.

Physical Demands: This position will typically require the employee to stand or walk for extended periods of time and may involve heavy manual labor. Expect to stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, reach, lift, push, pull, and carry items often for this position.
