Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. is seeking an entry-level technical writer to research, document and develop detailed operator, maintenance and troubleshooting procedures, checklists, and training materials, ensuring clarity and adherence to specifications.

You will collect data from engineering documents and interviews, coordinate reviews, and communicate complex information clearly. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (or equivalent) with 1+ year in a technical field.
• Basic technical understanding of military or commercial systems.
• Knowledge of documenting technical manuals and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Researches, documents and develops detailed operator, maintenance and troubleshooting procedures, checklists, technical specifications, alert bulletins, training materials and other reports.
• Collects and analyzes technical data from publications, drawings and expert interviews to support documentation.
• Ensures documents meet specifications, including illustrations or graphics as needed and proper security classifications.
• Coordinates technical document reviews and approval signatures with required stakeholders.
• Adheres to laws, regulations and safety practices in all activities.
