Job summary

Qualifications

  • Three or more years developing aviation technical publications.
  • Familiar with Aircraft Maintenance Manuals and Illustrated Parts Catalogs.
  • Strong working knowledge of ATA-100 and iSpec-2200 standards.

  • Coordinates information exchanges with engineering and customers.
  • Evaluates and develops improved techniques for document preparation.

The Technical Writer is responsible for producing the Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) documents and corresponding supplements (IPC, AMM, WDM, CMM) for interior integration projects, conforming to the requirements of the customer contract.



The Technical Writer will support the following:



- Produces and maintains high standards of quality in document/publications development.

- Evaluates and develops improved techniques for the preparation of technical documents.

- Works with Project and Design Engineers, and Program Management as required ensuring the released document/publication conforms to NAT standards, engineering and customer requirements and is technically accurate.

- Coordinates information exchanges with engineering, program management and customers.

Knowledge/Experience

- High School Diploma required, AA or BA preferred.
- Three or more years developing and preparing aviation technical publications in an aerospace engineering environment.
- Must be familiar and/or experienced using: Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogs, Wiring Diagram Manuals and Component Maintenance Manuals.
- Major airframe (OEM) or airline experience desired.
- Knowledge of MyBoeingFleet, Airbus World and AutoCAD a plus.
- Experience using SGML Editor (Arbortext), Adobe Illustrator, Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat, MS Office Suite Software.
- Strong working knowledge of ATA-100 and iSpec-2200 standards.
- Knowledge of basic 3D CAD modeling and design.

Skills/Abilities

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret engineering documents and drawings.
- Possess intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Products.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task effectively, and work under some pressure to meet due dates.
