Job summary

SiloSmashers is seeking a skilled Technical Writer in Washington, DC to produce and edit documentation for a federal law enforcement client. You will create reports, manuals, briefs, specifications, and training materials used by internal teams and external stakeholders.

The role requires strong writing, editing, and MS Office proficiency, with the ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and contribute to executive presentations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required with 4 years of federal technical writing experience; 8+ years waives requirement.
  • Proficiency in MS Office for writing and editing.
  • Strong multitasking and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and professional correspondence.
  • Self-sufficient, able to work independently and own the project.

Responsibilities

  • Write technical articles, reports, and manuals for documentation.
  • Coordinate graphics display and document production with the customer.
  • Proofread, edit, and standardize documents to high quality.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations and format materials.
  • Create/update brochures, briefings, technical papers, and websites.
  • Develop communications aligned with Procurement Section messaging.
  • Recommend content and delivery methods including updating PowerPoint slides and SharePoint.
  • Support leadership by gathering metrics and compiling data for presentations.
