Job summary

Ford Energy in Dearborn, Michigan, seeks a Documentation/Quality Systems Engineer to develop and maintain standards for documentation, governance, and DFMEA/PFMEA templates across engineering programs.

You will manage document control processes, coordinate revisions, and work with PLM and Quality teams to ensure compliance with ISO 9001/IATF 16949 and readiness for audits. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Writing, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience with document control systems and technical writing in a regulated engineering environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and process discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation standards and templates for quality processes, test reports, and engineering records.
  • Establish document numbering, classification, and metadata conventions to ensure consistency across the organization.
  • Partner with engineering and quality teams to standardize templates for DFMEA/PFMEA, test reports, and RCA records and ensure alignment between all documents.
  • Manage document control processes, including revision history, approval workflows, and archival, in coordination with the PLM Engineer.
  • Administer document review and approval cycles, ensuring appropriate stakeholder sign-off before release.
  • Maintain obsolescence/retirement processes for superseded documentation.
