Job summary

Teradyne in North Reading, MA seeks a technical writer to own and publish documentation for software features, from specs to release notes. You will draft content from specifications, source code, and SME interviews, producing publication-ready guides, tutorials, and code samples for engineers.

You will collaborate with developers, product managers, field engineers, and marketing to ensure accurate, clear content. A docs-as-code pipeline and AI-enabled tools are used.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in technical writing, communication, computer science, engineering, or a related field, and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree; or equivalent work experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to produce clean, publication-ready content from specifications and source code
• Ability to read specifications and source code to document behavior and write code examples
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with docs-as-code tools and AI enablement (Markdown, HTML, XML, Git, Jira, Confluence)
• Familiarity with Windows, iOS, C#/C++, VBA

Responsibilities

• Plan, write, edit, and maintain technical documentation for assigned software features and product areas, including release notes
• Own the documentation for a feature or defined portion of content and deliver on release schedules
• Draft content from specifications, source code, and SME interviews with limited rework
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and resolve incomplete source material
• Apply style, tone, format, and terminology standards consistently
• Author and publish in a docs-as-code pipeline (Markdown/HTML5, Git, PRs, CI)
• Verify content by exercising the product and testing code examples
• Host SME reviews and update content reflecting changes and feedback
• Stay updated on trends in technical writing and ATE industry
