Job summary

Teradyne is seeking an early-career technical writer in Massachusetts to learn the craft alongside senior writers, developers, and product managers. You will write and update topics, procedures, and release notes for our Automated Test Equipment (ATE), following templates and guidance.

You will work in a docs-as-code pipeline (Markdown/HTML5, Git) and use AI tools to draft content while ensuring accuracy through reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in technical writing, communication, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Ability to follow templates and topic models and revise work based on feedback.
• Ability to describe software UI steps and menus accurately; eager to learn ATE software.
• Ability to work within templates, processes, and priorities with detailed instruction.

Responsibilities

• Write, edit, and update documentation topics, procedures, and release notes for assigned software features, following templates.
• Own topics or sections within a documentation set and deliver work on schedule.
• Gather information from specifications, existing docs, and SMEs with prepared questions.
• Learn and apply the Teradyne style guide and terminology to all writing.
• Author and publish in a docs-as-code pipeline (Markdown/HTML5, Git, PRs) with clear, self-contained topics.
• Use AI-enabled tools to draft and revise content and check accuracy before review.
• Run procedures to confirm steps work and flag mismatches to mentors.
• Share drafts and incorporate editorial/SME feedback.
• Build knowledge of ATE products and stay current on docs best practices.
