Position Title: Technical Writer - Adobe FrameMaker
Duration: 4 - Months (Opportunity for extension)
Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid, 3 Day's onsite)
Pay Rage: $46 - $50/Hr
Role Overview
- The Technical Writer - Adobe FrameMaker will support a technical publications team responsible for creating, maintaining, and updating product documentation, manuals, and technical publications. This role will focus on managing existing FrameMaker-based documentation while supporting ongoing updates, new product documentation, and publication quality standards.
- The ideal candidate will have strong technical writing experience, advanced Adobe FrameMaker skills, and the ability to independently manage documentation updates in a fast-paced environment. This individual will work closely with subject matter experts, engineering teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure documentation is accurate, consistent, and delivered within established timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, update, and maintain technical documentation, manuals, and product publications using Adobe FrameMaker.
- Manage updates to existing publications while supporting new product documentation efforts.
- Work from existing source materials and independently complete documentation revisions.
- Ensure documentation follows established writing, formatting, and quality standards.
- Perform document formatting, editing, and PDF production activities.
- Support short-term documentation projects requiring quick turnaround times (including 48-hour update requests).
- Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and subject matter experts to gather and validate technical information.
- Manage documentation updates within shared drives and SharePoint environments.
- Track progress, communicate status updates, and meet assigned deadlines.
- Support publication stabilization efforts for recently migrated and updated content.Maintain accuracy, consistency, and usability across technical publications.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience as a Technical Writer or Documentation Specialist.
- Strong hands-on experience with Adobe FrameMaker.
- Experience creating and maintaining complex technical documentation.
- Ability to independently interpret existing documentation and make updates with minimal guidance.
- Strong understanding of technical writing principles, editing, formatting, and document production.
- Experience producing professional-quality PDFs and published documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience working within shared document environments such as SharePoint.
- Familiarity with Confluence, MS Teams, andMS Office.
Preferred
- Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Guides.
- Experience with structured authoring concepts (XML/DITA).
- Experience supporting content migration projects.
- Familiarity with Jira
- Experience working in engineering, software, manufacturing, telecommunications, or other technical industries.
- Experience working within Agile/Kanban environments.
