Pride Global, supporting a leading medical device manufacturer, seeks a Technical Writer - Manufacturing Documentation in San Diego, CA. This onsite role concentrates on creating, editing, and maintaining manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, SOPs, and equipment documentation to support production and regulatory compliance.

Job description

Pride Global is supporting a leading medical device manufacturing organization that has a contract opening for a Technical Writer - Manufacturing Documentation in San Diego, CA.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Create, develop, edit, and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process instructions, equipment documentation, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Draft and release Manufacturing Process Instructions to support production and manufacturing operations.
  • Prepare and release Equipment Documentation Packets, including User Requirements Specifications (URS), Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) documentation.
  • Capture experimental designs, engineering activities, and validation results into clear, accurate, and compliant technical documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing engineers, production teams, and subject matter experts to gather technical information and ensure documentation accuracy.
  • Research, organize, and translate complex engineering concepts into user-friendly documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Create and process Change Orders to release documentation through the company's document control and quality management system.
  • Document manufacturing equipment, engineering processes, production procedures, and technical specifications in accordance with company standards.
  • Recommend documentation formats and improvements that support operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with company quality systems, documentation standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Writing, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Associate's degree with significant relevant technical writing experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of technical writing experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

  • Employment Type: 06 months Contract (Possible extension on the basis of performance)
  • Shift: 8am to 5pm, Mon to Fri
  • Location: San Diego, CA (Fully Onsite)
  • Approved Pay Range: $40 - $44/hr on W2
