Job summary

• Develop content within structured authoring and content-management environments.
• Ensure publications meet customer and technical publication standards.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, and data.

Responsibilities

• Develop and revise operator, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, parts, and service publications.
• Interpret engineering drawings, wiring schematics, system diagrams, CAD/3D data, parts information, and changes.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, illustrators, and other teams to gather and validate information.
• Develop content within structured authoring and content-management environments.
• Support publication validation and verification.
• Ensure documentation meets standards.
• Provide technical writing for vehicles, heavy equipment, aerospace, defense, automotive, or other complex systems.
• Work with XML and/or SGML workflows.
• Interpret engineering drawings, wiring schematics, and data.
• Utilize Teamcenter and MATH-related data as needed.

CPI is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to develop and maintain technical publications supporting complex vehicle and equipment systems.

This position is ideal for a technical writer with experience translating engineering information into clear operation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and service documentation.

What You'll Do

• Develop and revise operator, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, parts, and service publications
• Interpret engineering drawings, wiring schematics, system diagrams, CAD/3D data, parts information, and engineering changes
• Work with engineers, technicians, illustrators, and other technical teams to gather and validate information
• Develop content within structured authoring and content-management environments
• Support technical publication validation and verification
• Ensure documentation meets applicable customer and technical publication standards
• Technical writing for vehicles, heavy equipment, aerospace, defense, automotive, or other complex mechanical/electrical systems
• XML and/or SGML
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, wiring schematics, and technical data
• Teamcenter
• MATH

Highly Desired

Experience with:

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to work onsite in Warren or Milford, MI at least three days per week
• Must be able to obtain and maintain required government access/credentials
