Overview
Technical Writer role at 10a Labs on a short-term contract to document a suite of developer products and tools. You’ll create API and SDK documentation, conceptual guides for model integration, and workshop materials that help developers and partner organizations work with large-language-models (LLMs) and vector database–based systems. You’ll collaborate with engineering, product, and research teams to translate emerging technical advances into developer-ready materials that accelerate adoption and understanding.
Responsibilities
- 3+ years of technical writing experience with a strong portfolio of API, SDK, and developer documentation.
- Ability to draft and produce workshop materials.
- Translate complex AI and infrastructure systems (LLMs, embeddings, vector databases, retrieval pipelines) into developer-friendly materials.
- Experience with docs-as-code workflows (Git/GitHub, Markdown/MDX, static site generators).
- Coding proficiency in at least one language (Python, TypeScript, or similar) and ability to verify runnable examples.
- Understand modern software development (version control, testing, dependency management, CI/CD).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; meticulous about clarity and correctness.
- Ability to design and deliver technical workshops or training materials that help developers learn new systems quickly.
- Self-directed, adaptable, and collaborative across engineering, product, and research.
- Bonus: experience with AI/ML tools, prompt engineering, LLM safety and evaluation, OpenAPI/Swagger, or open-source documentation contributions.
Requirements

- Proven ability to translate complex systems for both application developers and platform engineers.
- Experience with docs-as-code workflows (Git/GitHub, Markdown/MDX, static site generators).

- Solid grasp of modern software development practices including version control, testing, dependency management, and CI/CD. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a bias toward clarity and accuracy.
- Self-directed, adaptable, and collaborative across cross-functional teams.
- Experience with AI/ML tools, prompt engineering, LLM concepts, API specs (OpenAPI/Swagger), or open-source documentation contributions.
