The Senior Technical Writer will support the Army Training Information System (ATIS) by creating, reviewing, and maintaining comprehensive documentation for technical solutions, user guides, training materials, and system implementation guides. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical writing, the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise documentation, and experience working within a Department of Defense (DoD) environment.
Documentation Development: Develop and maintain high quality technical documentation, including user manuals, training materials, system design documentation, and operational procedures. Ensure all documentation aligns with DoD and Army standards for style, accuracy, and security compliance.
Collaboration: Work closely with developers, engineers, subject matter experts (SMEs), and stakeholders to gather and verify technical information. Collaborate with the training team to ensure training materials align with technical documentation and meet user needs.
Content Management: Organize and manage documentation repositories to ensure easy access and version control. Maintain a document review and approval process to ensure accuracy and relevance.
Process Improvement: Recommend and implement best practices for documentation development and management. Identify gaps in existing documentation and create content to address those gaps.
Compliance and Quality Control: Ensure documentation meets DoD compliance standards, including accessibility, security, and format requirements. Conduct regular reviews and updates of documentation to ensure accuracy and relevance to current systems and processes.
Support: Provide support during system deployments by creating quick reference guides, FAQs, and training materials for end users. Assist in creating presentations and briefings for leadership and stakeholders.
Education and Requirements:
Current and active Secret security clearance.
