Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Technical Writer and Documentation Specialist to own safety and technical documentation packages end to end; pulling technical detail from the team's mechanical and electrical engineers, writing the packages themselves, and coordinating directly with customers and military personnel through review.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field, English, or technical communication, or equivalent defense documentation experience.
• 3+ years writing technical documentation for defense or regulated engineering environments.
• Strong familiarity with MIL-STD-810 and safety/compliance practices.
• Detail-oriented and able to verify content with engineers.

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Technical Writer and Documentation Specialist. In this position, you will own safety and technical documentation packages end to end; pulling technical detail from the team's mechanical and electrical engineers, writing the packages themselves, and coordinating directly with customers and military personnel through review.

Required Skills and Education:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field, English, or technical communication, or equivalent experience writing defense technical documentation.
• 3+ years writing technical documentation for defense, aerospace, or another regulated engineering environment.
• Deep familiarity with military standards, including MIL-STD-810, and with compliance and safety documentation practices.
• Strong attention to detail, and comfort working closely with engineers to pull and verify technical content.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience with fuze safety documentation (MIL-STD-1316, MIL-DTL-23659) or munitions programs.
• Familiarity with FMECA, fault tree analysis, and the UN test series.
