Job summary

Accelint Holdings LLC's Lyntris program seeks a detail-oriented Technical Writer in San Diego, CA. This full-time role offers remote/hybrid work options and requires an active U.S. national security clearance.

You will develop and maintain manuals, ICDs, test plans, SOPs, and training materials, working with engineers to translate complex concepts into clear, user-friendly documentation while adhering to DoD terminology and security requirements.

Qualifications

Active U.S. national security clearance.
3–5 years of technical writing experience in engineering or technical fields.
Strong understanding of engineering principles and terminology.
Knowledge of DoD terminology and defense documentation processes.
Proficient with documentation tools (Acrobat, MS Office, XML editors, FrameMaker).
Ability to write from engineering drawings and specifications; clear, concise documentation.
Excellent written and verbal communication; detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

Develop, edit, and maintain a variety of documentation, including user manuals, system operation procedures, interface control documents (ICDs), test plans, SOPs, and training materials.
Work closely with engineers, developers, and technical leads to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into user-friendly documentation.
Establish documentation frameworks and best practices to ensure content is consistent, organized, and up-to-date. Continuously improve documentation processes.
Tailor documentation to suit different audiences, including engineers, developers, end-users, and internal stakeholders.
Provide on-demand documentation support to customers and internal teams for troubleshooting, deployment, and best practices.
Review technical content for accuracy, clarity, and coherence. Incorporate feedback from engineers and end-users to improve documents over time.
Conduct thorough proofreading and editing of technical materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and technical precision.

Required Qualifications

Currently holds an active U.S. national security clearance.
3-5 years of experience as a technical writer in an engineering or technical field.
Strong understanding of engineering principles, concepts, and terminology.
Strong knowledge of DoD terminology, technical documentation processes, and defense acquisition documentation.
Proficiency with documentation tools (Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite, XML-based editors, Adobe FrameMaker).
Ability to interpret and write content from engineering drawings, design specifications, and software documentation. Proficiency in writing clear, concise, and user-friendly technical documentation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communication, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Clearance Requirements

Some positions will require access to U.S. National Security information. Positions that require this access will be required to receive and maintain a U.S. government personnel security clearance (PCL). In order to qualify for this position, the candidate must be a US Citizen and either currently possess this National Security eligibility or be able to complete the investigation application process with a favorable determination and maintain that eligibility throughout their employment.
