Job summary

Vosper Thornycroft Group is seeking a Technical Writer to develop, write, and edit material for reports, manuals, briefs, and related publications. The role involves collecting information for user manuals, training materials, and installation guides, and managing all documentation within a centralized system.

The ideal candidate holds a BA/BS with at least 3 years of experience and is eligible for a Secret clearance (Top Secret clearance also possible).

• Develops, writes and edits material for reports, manuals, briefs, instructions books, catalogs and related technical and administrative publications.
• Assists in collecting and organizing information required for preparation of user’s manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and reports.
• Edits functional descriptions, system specifications, user’s manuals, special reports, or any other customer deliverables and documents.
• Manages, maintains, and distributes documents for the business.
• Writes, reviews, and proofreads prepared documentation specifications to ensure they meet specified requirements.
• Monitors and reviews received documentation for potential compliance issues and quality assurance.
• Interacts with clients and vendors to gauge appropriate documentation requests and track the progress of submittals.
• Administers a database of documentation and detailed timelines and logs of documentation requests

VTG’s estimated starting pay range is $62,479-$114,126 annually, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
