Job summary

Air Methods is looking for a Documentation Specialist to support its Certification and Engineering teams. You will be responsible for preparing new documents and revising existing ones in compliance with FAA regulations.

The ideal candidate has an Associate’s degree and 1-3 years of experience with aircraft systems, particularly helicopters. Strong organizational and technical writing skills are critical in this role.

Competitive pay with a salary range from $64,286 to $80,377 annually, plus industry-leading benefits.

Overview

Job Summary: Responsible to support Certification, Engineering, and other United Rotorcraft Departments by preparing new documents and/or revising existing documents in accordance with division procedures and work instructions.

  • Support Certification, Engineering, and other United Rotorcraft Departments by preparing new documents and/or revising existing documents in accordance with division procedures, training materials, and work instructions.
  • Prepare (or assist in preparation of) and proofread documents, such as Rotorcraft Flight Manual Supplements, Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, certification plans, test plans, structural substantiation reports, and other support documents.
  • Revise existing documentation to meet new or additional requirements, including reports and FAA documents such as Master Drawing Lists, Master Document Indices, etc. and FAA Forms 8110-3.
  • Assist Documentation Control as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Regular scheduled attendance.
  • Indicate the percentage of time spent traveling: 0%.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical/engineering school; or one to three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • 1-3 years previous experience with aircraft systems (especially helicopters).
  • General understanding of FAA certification process and requirements preferred.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and reasoning skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize and multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings preferred.
  • Good technical writing skills.
  • Previous experience with MS Project or other schedule software preferred.
  • Previous experience with CAD software (AutoCAD and SolidWorks preferred) is a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat.
Minimum pay

USD $64,286.25/Yr.

Maximum Pay

USD $80,377.50/Yr.
