Zachery Piper Solutions is seeking a Technical Writer to support a high‑visibility U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) prototype initiative. You will have the opportunity to join a rapidly growing, Service‑Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business supporting both federal and commercial clients in a fully remote role. The Technical Writer will play a key role in ensuring all project deliverables are accessible to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders and meet USCG documentation requirements.

This position requires an Active Secret Clearance to be considered for the role

Responsibilities of the Technical Writer include:
  • Develop, organize, and maintain all technical documentation throughout the prototype lifecycle.
  • Document system architecture, design decisions, deployment procedures, and testing results.
  • Ensure all written materials align with USCG technical standards and formatting requirements.
  • Translate complex technical inputs into concise, actionable documentation for diverse audiences.
  • Contribute to configuration guides, design overviews, risk assessments, and transition deliverables.
  • Support the creation and delivery of design artifacts, system overviews, and related project materials.
Qualifications for the Technical Writer include:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5–8 years of experience in technical writing within a technical, engineering, or federal environment.
  • Proven experience developing and editing user manuals, SOPs, system documentation, proposals/RFP responses, and knowledge‑base articles.
  • Strong ability to translate technical concepts into clear, structured, and accessible documentation.
  • Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Active Secret Clearance.
Compensation for the Technical Writer includes:
  • Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid holidays, PTO, and sick leave (as required by law).
