Job summary

STAR7 is seeking a Technical Translator to work remotely as a freelance contributor, translating from English and/or Italian into Hungarian. The role focuses on technical documentation and requires MT post-editing experience and CAT tools proficiency.

Qualifications

• Native Hungarian speaker with translation degree or equivalent experience.
• Excellent command of Italian in both comprehension and writing.
• MT Post-Editing (MTPE) experience required.
• Experience and/or preference for technical translation and proofreading.
• IT skills with knowledge of CAT tools and ability to learn new tools.
• Familiar with translation memory, glossaries, and style guides.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

This is a remote position.

In STAR7 () we support our customers throughout the product information and content life cycle.

STAR7 started its activity as a Language Service Provider more than 20 years ago.

Weare specializedin localization and internationalization.

STAR7 Group is recruiting technical translators from English and/or Italian into Hungarian to be part of our growing Teams.

You will:

• Ensure target text correctly reflects the meaning of thesource
• Providecorrections and text optimization based on the MToutput
• Understand post-editing guidelines and ensure quality standards meet clientexpectations
• Perform linguistic tasks as per project instructions and other references (translation memory, glossary, style guides, etc.)
• Ensure high-grammatical accuracy whilemaintainingkey terminology, spotting inconsistencies and incorrect culturalreferences
• Correct formatting/tagging, punctuation, country specifics, terminology, style, fluency as per guidelines

Requirements

• Degree in Translation, Applied Linguistics or equivalent experience
• Native speaker in Hungarian language
• Machine Translation Post-Editing (MTPE) experience required
• Excellent command of the Italian language in both comprehension and writing
• Preferred experience in translation and proofreading specialized in Technical field
• IT skills with knowledge and experience of CAT tools
• Comfortable with technology and open to learn to use new tools
• Excellent understanding of Machine Translation Post-Editing processes and tools
• Linguistic and cultural competences of both source and target language
• Adaptive to fast-paced work environment with multiple changes of project priorities
• Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Problem solving and decision-making skills
