Job summary

STAR7 is hiring technical translators to translate from English and Italian into Croatian. This is a remote freelance position. You will work on localization projects within the product information and content lifecycle, applying MTPE processes and terminology management.

The role requires native Croatian, MTPE experience, and strong English/Italian skills, with a focus on Technical translation. Candidates should be comfortable with IT tools and fast-paced priorities.

Qualifications

• Native speaker in Croatian mandatory.
• MTPE experience required.
• Strong command of English and Italian in comprehension and writing.
• Experience in technical translation and proofreading preferred.
• IT skills and experience with CAT tools expected.

Responsibilities

• Ensure target text reflects source meaning accurately.
• Provide corrections and text optimization based on MT output.
• Follow post-editing guidelines and meet client quality standards.
• Perform linguistic tasks per project instructions (TM, glossary, style guides).
• Maintain terminology, format, punctuation, and cultural accuracy under deadlines.

In STAR7 () we support our customers throughout the product information and content life cycle. STAR7 started its activity as a Language Service Provider more than 20 years ago.Weare specializedin localization and internationalization. STAR7 Group is recruiting technical translators from English and Italian into Croatian to be part of our growing Teams.

You will:

• Ensure target text correctly reflects the meaning of thesource
• Providecorrections and text optimization based on the MToutput
• Understand post-editing guidelines and ensure quality standards meet clientexpectations
• Perform linguistic tasks as per project instructions and other references (translation memory, glossary, style guides, etc.)
• Ensure high-grammatical accuracy whilemaintainingkey terminology, spotting inconsistencies and incorrect culturalreferences
• Correct formatting/tagging, punctuation, country specifics, terminology, style, fluency as per guidelines

Requirements

• Degree in Translation, Applied Linguistics or equivalent experience
• Native speaker in Croatian language is mandatory
• Machine Translation Post-Editing (MTPE) experience is required
• Excellent command of the English and Italian language in both comprehension and writing
• Preferred experience in translation and proofreading specialized in Technical field
• IT skills with knowledge and experience of CAT tools
• Comfortable with technology and open to learn to use new tools
• Excellent understanding of Machine Translation Post-Editing processes and tools
• Linguistic and cultural competences of both source and target language
• Adaptive to fast-paced work environment with multiple changes of project priorities
• Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Problem solving and decision-making skills
