Job summary

Geronimo Power, LLC is seeking a Technical Training Specialist to develop and deliver safety and technical training for field employees across our renewable energy projects. The role combines field experience with adult-learning techniques to build technician capability and ensure safe work across the fleet.

Reporting to the Senior Training Manager within the EHS Department, you will run classroom, virtual, field, on-the-job, and simulator sessions, creating content and evaluating proficiency.

Qualifications

• At least five years of field experience in renewable generation operations and/or construction.
• Working knowledge of AC/DC electrical theory, circuits, and high/low voltage systems.
• Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, practical instruction for adult learners.
• Strong presentation, facilitation, written communication, and training-administration skills.
• Willingness to travel approximately two to three weeks per month.

Responsibilities

About This Role

The Technical Training Specialist develops, delivers, and continuously improves safety and technical training for field employees supporting Geronimo Power's operating and construction portfolio. This role combines deep renewable-generation field experience with adult-learning practices to build technician capability, evaluate proficiency, and support consistent, safe work across the fleet.

Reporting to the Senior Training Manager within the EHS Department, this position delivers training in classroom, virtual, field, on-the-job, and simulator settings, as applicable. The role also performs qualification evaluations, maintains training and qualification content, and partners with EHS, Engineering, Operations, and Construction on equipment-specific procedures and evolving technical requirements.

This is a remote position that requires travel approximately two to three weeks per month, primarily during the work week. Weekend travel is uncommon but may be required in certain circumstances. Non-travel weeks are used for course development, program administration, documentation, and other role-critical work.

Responsibilities

• Deliver technical and safety training in classroom, virtual, field, on-the-job, and simulator environments, as applicable.
• Teach electrical theory, mechanical theory, and equipment-specific content required to operate and maintain renewable power facilities safely and effectively.
• Develop new technical courses and update existing curricula, job aids, assessments, and practical exercises to reflect current equipment, procedures, and field needs.
• Conduct written, hands-on, and performance-based competency and qualification evaluations; document results and provide clear, constructive feedback to trainees.
• Partner with Operations, Construction, EHS, and Engineering to validate training requirements and incorporate lessons learned, procedural changes, and emerging technologies.
• Expand and maintain qualification standards and evaluation criteria for evolving technologies, equipment, and technician tasks.
• Develop and maintain equipment-specific lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures in coordination with EHS and Engineering.
• Provide field-based technical insight to support updates to EHS procedures and safe-work practices.
• Maintain accurate training records, qualification documentation, course materials, and version control in accordance with company requirements.
• Promote a consistent safety culture and model professional, inclusive, and effective adult-learning practices.

What You’ll Bring

• At least five years of field experience in renewable generation operations and/or construction, with demonstrated experience in at least one of the following: wind, solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), or balance of plant (BOP). Experience across multiple technologies is preferred.
• Working knowledge of AC/DC electrical theory, circuits, solid-state devices, controllers, and low-, medium-, and high-voltage systems relevant to industrial power production.
• Working knowledge of mechanical systems and field practices, including fasteners and torquing, hand and power tools, infrared cameras, locating tools, conductor crimping, and mechanical drives.
• Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, practical instruction for adult learners with varied levels of experience.
• Ability to assess performance objectively and communicate qualification outcomes, including unsuccessful evaluations, clearly and respectfully.
• Strong presentation, facilitation, written communication, organization, and training-administration skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage changing field schedules, collaborate cross-functionally, and exercise sound judgment with limited day-to-day oversight.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to quickly learn training, documentation, and business systems.
• Ability to travel approximately two to three weeks per month and work safely at renewable-energy field locations.
• Preferred Qualifications
• Deep knowledge of Power Electronics Generation 2/3, Sungrow 3000/4000 series, or TMEIC inverters, and/or Sungrow BESS systems.
• Prior experience delivering technical instruction in AC/DC electrical theory, industrial electrical systems, controls, or renewable-generation equipment.
• Experience developing technical curricula, practical assessments, qualification programs, or equipment-specific LOTO procedures.

Pay Range for the posted level: $97,000 – $113,000 plus target annual bonus opportunity of 15%. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and demonstrated market-relevant expertise
