Job summary

MasTec Utility Services is seeking a Training Manager to design, implement, and continuously improve training programs that boost safety, technical proficiency, and leadership across our field operations.

You will partner with Operations, Safety, HR, and site leaders to ensure workers have the knowledge, skills, and certifications needed to perform their roles safely and efficiently, while maintaining regulatory compliance and measurable performance gains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 5+ years of training/learning and development experience.
• 3+ years of leadership or management experience.
• Experience supporting utility construction or related operations.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and instructional design.
• Experience creating instructor-led and online learning programs.
• Excellent presentation, facilitation, coaching, and communication skills.
• Experience using LMS and MS Office applications.
• Ability to travel up to 40%.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage company-wide training programs.
• Lead onboarding for craft professionals and leaders.
• Identify training needs with Operations, Safety, HR.
• Develop career progression and competency-based training.
• Manage LMS, training records, certifications, and reporting.
• Ensure OSHA, DOT, and other regulations compliance.
• Coordinate classrooms, virtual learning, field demos, and hands-on tests.
• Evaluate training with metrics and feedback.
• Create SOPs, materials, videos, and facilitator guides.
• Support leadership development and change initiatives.
• Oversee third‑party vendors and apprenticeship programs.
• Monitor certifications and renewals.
• Support incident investigations with training opportunities.
• Manage department budgets and calendars.
• Travel to regional offices to deliver training.
