Job summary

Qualifications

• Technical degree or craft certification preferred.
• Minimum 4 years in Fitout A Class experience preferred.
• Demonstrate competent craft skills aligned with Training Management.
• Journeyman certification via experience or certified program preferred.
• Possess weld certifications required for craft where applicable.
• Thorough knowledge of craft procedures.
• Instructional experience is preferred.
• Ability to diagnose and correct issues with applicable craft.
• Knowledge of tools and equipment use and safety.
• Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Austal USA testing and training of structural personnel to contract standards.
• Monitor testing of external applicants to naval codes and specifications.
• Oversee testing and training of employees’ promotional testing and certification needs.
• Facilitate and oversee training platforms for entry-level employees.
• Track and communicate training metrics to MTC Management and partners.
• Prepare curriculum and lesson plans, plus supporting materials.
• Compute and submit testing and training results.
• Maintain inventory of coupons, filler material, consumables, etc.
• Maintain documentation of testing and training activities.
• Champion company safety rules and 5S principles.
• Create an environment conducive to training; assist in continuous improvement.
