Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Technical Trainer to join the Wilsonville, OR site.

The hourly rate for this position is $26.00 - $30.00 per hour. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

Shift Hours: 7:00am - 4:00pm

What you’ll do:

Position Overview:

The Production Trainer is responsible for delivering, supporting, and sustaining effective training programs for hourly production employees to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient manufacturing operations. The role also serves as a subject matter expert for production processes and provides production-role support as needed to sustain operations.

In this function you will:

  • Facilitate site-wide training programs for hourly production employees, including on-the-job training, classroom instruction, and onboarding support, while implementing and supporting new training programs aligned with changing operational needs and productivity initiatives.
  • Develop, update, and deliver training materials and presentations to support operational, safety, quality, and productivity requirements.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for production processes. Partner with functional leaders to plan and execute cross-training strategies that ensure effective manning and coverage across production areas, and flex into production areas as needed to support operations.
  • Maintain accurate and audit-ready training documentation, including training records, training folders, skills matrices, employee certifications, qualifications, and required re-certifications, ensuring compliance with Eaton policies, regulatory requirements, and site standards.
  • Ensure completion of required Eaton University training assignments for all production employees and ensure employee certifications, qualifications, and required re-certifications remain current and documented.
  • Lead by example by demonstrating Eaton’s safety culture, leadership behaviors, quality standards, continuous improvement mindset, and product knowledge; conduct and document Positive Interruptions (PI) and Safety Observations while meeting established monthly safety observation targets; and actively participate in and lead continuous improvement initiatives supporting safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in manufacturing, distribution, or military environments
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area (50 mile radius) of the listed facilikty will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred:

  • Minimum 2 years of power distribution systems experience.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office applications
  • Minimum 1 year technical writing experience
  • Minimum 1 year supporting on-the-job production training
  • Fully bilingual (English/Spanish)
