Job summary

MAT Holdings, Inc. – GRl Engineering and Development, LLC division – seeks a high-energy Training Specialist to train automotive brake pad customers across the Gulf Coast region (AL, MS, LA, AR, TN).

You will conduct technical training sessions at regional and national meetings, accompany sales teams on ride-alongs, present complex material clearly, and maintain strong customer relationships while traveling up to 75% across the U.S.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years on-the-job experience in service/dealership/vehicle maintenance roles.
  • Automotive brake systems knowledge a plus; ASE/Master certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct technical training sessions at regional and national meetings and trade shows.
  • Attend ride-alongs with sales managers to educate customers on brake pads.
  • Present technical information to diverse audiences and handle questions on materials, manufacturing, and testing.
  • Solve customer issues related to brake pad fit and function during visits.
  • Travel extensively to various locations across the US (up to 75%).
  • Coordinate training schedules with the customer training manager and attend internal trainings.

Job Summary

This position is with GRI Engineering and Development, LLC, a division of MAT Holdings, Inc. GRIE holds a significant market share of the aftermarket braking segment. Offering a complete line of brake rotors, drums, and friction components, GRIE has created a reputation for supplying high‑quality finished components to the off‑road and heavy‑duty vehicle market. This position is responsible for training the automotive brake pad customers. We are currently looking for a high‑energy, dynamic individual. You will be responsible for the Gulf Coast Territory. States include AL, MS, LA, AR, and TN.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Conduct technical training sessions at customer regional and national sales meetings and at trade‑shows.
  • Attend ride‑a‑longs with customer commercial sales managers to promote and educate their customers on brake pads.
  • Present technical information on brake pads to a wide audience (both technical and non‑technical). Audience size can vary from 20 - 100 people. The intent of the presentations is to educate the participants by providing technical information and fielding any questions related but not limited to, brake friction material, customer brake pad line differentiation, manufacturing, quality, and testing.
  • Responsible for problem‑solving any customer issues relating to brake pad fit and/or function during customer visits.
  • Become familiar with the customer’s commercial sales programs and promotions.
  • Responsible for ongoing relationship building with customers.
  • Extensive travel (up to 75%) to various locations across the US.
  • Planned and coordinated all training sessions/schedules with the customer training manager.
  • Attend yearly internal company training with corporate, R&D, and the company factories.
  • Issue weekly reports on customer visits on a timely basis, as well as participate in weekly team conference calls.
Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present data in an organized manner
  • Strong written and presentation skills with the ability to communicate to and engage an audience in all settings, ensuring participants become more knowledgeable on our products and product lines
    • Knowledge of OE or aftermarket brake systems and components
    • Familiar with vehicle maintenance and diagnosis
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills both on an individual basis and group level
  • Delivers on commitments, has strong follow‑up skills, and shows consistency between words and actions
  • Proven ability to negotiate, making sound decisions in a timely and confident manner
  • Ability to influence and shape the decisions of others and to work through issues or conflicts to create
  • Highly organized, results‑driven and an ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
    • Must be able to interface with clients and maintain a professional image.
    • Strong commitment to customer satisfaction and quality
    • Instructional Training Experience - Classroom or on‑the‑job preferred

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years on‑the‑job experience (i.e. service departments, dealerships, vehicle maintenance, etc.) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Automotive Technical experience in Brake Systems / Repair - Stateor ASE/Master Certifications a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word,Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Bi‑lingual in Spanish is a plus.

The posted salary range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications.
