Job summary

Siemens Energy in Orlando is seeking a Plant Operations and Support Technical Trainer to empower power-plant operators worldwide with the knowledge to operate Siemens Energy equipment effectively.

You will help develop and present site-specific training, including gas turbine and related systems, support simulator and I&C programs, and travel up to 40% domestically and internationally. Fluency in English and a strong teaching background are essential.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in power plant operations and maintenance.
  • 3+ years as an instructor teaching technical curriculum.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical and I&C knowledge.
  • Fluent in English, both speaking and writing.
  • Willing to travel up to 40% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and present site-specific operator training programs and procedures; travel required.
  • Support development and delivery of simulator and I&C training programs.
  • Create custom training programs for specific applications to meet customer needs.
  • Advise and mentor on operational issues for power plants.
  • Ensure training programs meet customer needs within time and budget.
  • Conduct detailed research and organize drawings/information to prepare training.

As a Siemens Energy Plant Operations and Support Technical Trainer, you will have the opportunity to work with plant operators from around the world to give them the knowledge and know-how to operate Siemens Energy power generation equipment.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Participate in the development and presentation of site-specific customer operator training programs and operating procedures for gas turbine projects, including large and industrial steam turbines, while being prepared for frequent travel to field assignments both internationally and domestically.
  • Support the development (and aid in presenting) simulator and I&C training programs for the customer and internal personnel.
  • Build, develop and communicate custom training programs for specific applications to meet the needs of the customer and internal personnel.
  • Participate as advisor and mentor on operational issues for power plants.
  • Ensure training programs are developed and implemented to meet customer needs meanwhile staying within time and budget requirements.
  • Ability to conduct detailed research, collect and organize drawings and information to prepare training programs.
What You Bring
  • Vocational degree or Military experience of 5+ years in power plant operations and maintenance or equivalent; 3+ years as an instructor teaching technical curriculum is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical and I&C knowledge associated with power plant equipment.
  • DCS Controls systems knowledge is highly preferred.
  • Excellence interpersonal skills with focus on ability to understand customer needs and meet them.
  • Fluent with speaking and writing in English (technically and conversationally).
  • Willing to travel up to 40% domestically and internationally.
