Job description

Carnegie Mellon University is a private, global research university that stands among the world’s most renowned education institutions. With ground-breaking brain science, path-breaking performances, creative start-ups, big data, big ambitions, hands-on learning, and a whole lot of robots, CMU doesn’t imagine the future, we invent it. If you’re passionate about joining a community that challenges the curious to deliver work that matters, your journey starts here! The Robotics Innovation Center (RIC) highlights the many ways that CMU is both investing in the local community and meeting American needs in key national security and economic sectors. This facility brings together many of the university’s key areas of strength — academic excellence, collaboration without boundaries, innovation without limits, leadership in science and technology, research that translates to real-world applications — making it both a proving ground for the present and a launch pad for the future. The RIC is seeking a Technical Support Specialist to join the team! This role is responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and user support of the Robotics Innovation Center's Special Purpose Spaces, including the motion capture systems, drone research facilities, wet laboratory, and water tank testing environments. This position provides direct technical support to faculty, researchers, students, and project teams to ensure reliable operation of critical research infrastructure and experimental equipment. The position will also support general RIC building operations.
