Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. in Pacific Beach, WA seeks a Technical Support Specialist to assist the Network Administrator with maintenance of ancillary network systems.

The role requires flexibility for non-standard hours and overtime to meet business and contractual requirements. Responsibilities include operating and testing telecommunication systems such as DRMS, JTRS, and MIDS, plus troubleshooting network and RF equipment.

Qualifications

• 3 years relevant experience with Bachelor's in related field; or 7 years with HS diploma.
• Active Secret Clearance required.
• Security+ certification is required.
• Experience with voice and data communications systems.
• Administration and configuration of communication network systems.
• Experience with digital communications networks, multiplexers, data links, RF equipment, and fiber.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and install telecommunication and related systems for range operations.
• Accomplish tasks independently per project objectives.
• Conduct daily testing of DRMS, UHF/VHF radios, SKL, MIDS, and JTRS.
• Troubleshoot and repair network-based and RF systems; inspect connections.
• Install and maintain Ethernet, fiber, and data transmission lines.
• Assist in troubleshooting LAN/WAN equipment such as routers and switches.

HII is seeking a Technical Support Specialist to Assist the Pacific Beach Network Administrator with maintenance on ancillary network communication systems. The position requires flexibility to work non-standard work hours and work weeks of more than 40 hours to meet business, customer, and contractual requirements.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for the operation, maintenance, and installation of telecommunication and related communications systems supporting range operations.
• Accomplishes assigned tasks independently in accordance with overall project objectives and requirements.
• Daily testing and operations of communications equipment to include but not limited to Digital Radio Management System (DRMS), UHF/VHF Air-to-Ground Radios, Simple key Loader (SKL), Multifunctional Information Distribution Systems (MIDS), and Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS).
• Troubleshoot and repair network-based and RF communications systems. Inspects connections, fittings, and installed wire and cable sections for conformance to specifications.
• Performs the installation and maintenance of Ethernet, fiber, and other data transmission lines as required.
• May assist in the troubleshooting of LAN/WAN equipment such as routers, hubs, and switches.

Minimum Qualifications

• 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1-year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience.
• Security Clearance: currently possess and be able to maintain an active Secret Clearance.
