Position Summary:
The Technical Support Specialist I provide frontline technical support to UUG staff and physicians by troubleshooting and resolving a variety of technical issues related to software and hardware.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor incoming support requests (tickets) and help users resolve them in a timely manner.
- Assist users in setting up their equipment – Laptops, PC, Printers – updating inventories as appropriate.
- Create documentation, building up our knowledge base
- Maintain user accounts – create, modify, or remove for Active Director and applications as needed
- Travel to medical facilities to satisfy user requests or resolve issuesas needed
- Maintain Phones - moves, adds, changes
- Engage vendors as needed to address requests or issues as necessary.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a technical support role, preferably in a medical setting.
- A+ or equivalent certification preferred.
- Strong understanding of computer hardware and software principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge, Competencies & Skills:
- Active Directory, network troubleshooting, and basic IT security principles (preferred).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Maintain & adhere to HIPAA compliance/ regulations.
- Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute.
Tech Requirements for the Job (Hybrid Roles Only):
- High-speed, reliable internet connection to ensure uninterrupted communication and access to necessary systems and tools.
- Quiet and private work environment to maintain the confidentiality of patient information and minimize background noise during calls.
- Proficiency in using remote collaboration tools, such as video conferencing software, instant messaging platforms, and customer relationship management systems.
- Compliance with all security and privacy policies and protocols, including safeguarding patient information and maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Physical Requirements for the Job:
- Regularly required to sit and stand for extended periods.
- Involves standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, and twisting.

- Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 35 lbs.
