Standard BioTools is seeking a dynamic Technical Specialist to support our innovative biomarker discovery platform, the SomaScan Assay, SomaSignal Tests, and related pipeline products.

The Technical Support Scientist will work in a fast-paced, team-oriented commercial and technical group providing technical presentations, technical laboratory development activities and scientific and technical support of Standard BioTools’ core products. The work requires attention to detail, strong understanding of Standard BioTools’ core and associated technologies, and a deep understanding of client applications.

This position will report to the Technical Support Manager, Global Scientific Engagement.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Support and train clients in using SomaScan Assay core technologies, competitor positioning and case studies during pre and post sales in-person and virtual meetings.
  • Deliver technology presentations at virtual or in-person seminars, conferences and meetings.
  • In collaboration with Marketing and Sales team, plan and host in-person and virtual user group meetings and regional events – from planning, collateral preparation, inviting speakers, co-presenting and KOL engagement.
  • Through close collaboration with R&D, Product managers and Marketing team prepare the scientific materials for new offerings and products.
  • Generate, edit and improve various technology-based collaterals such as PowerPoint, Technical Notes, Whitepapers, etc.
  • Track all customer facing activities in SalesForce and maintain the engagements according to KPIs, and document all technical inquiries in Salesforce system.
  • Participate in cross-functional training across the organization, mainly focusing on commercial teams.
  • Be part of growing team for new-to-market products by providing VOC and prepare for go to market.
  • Additional responsibilities as directed by the head of scientific engagement.
  • Traveling within your region up to 20% of the time.

Education and Experience:

  • BS degree in the life sciences or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years laboratory experience, including technical troubleshooting, and minimum of 3 years of customer facing role is required.
  • Experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries preferred.
  • Experience training others preferred.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with strict deadlines.

Salary Range: $64,400 - $92,000
