Job summary

ThreatModeler is seeking a technically curious Technical Support Engineer to join our Technical Support team in Jersey City. You will investigate and resolve issues across the ThreatModeler platform, including APIs, authentication, databases, networking, and containerised deployments in cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in technical support, application support, DevOps, infrastructure, or similar technical role.
• Methodical, evidence-based troubleshooting approach.
• Strong Linux and networking knowledge (DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, ports, proxies).
• Experience troubleshooting REST APIs with Postman or curl.
• Ability to use SQL and relational databases for investigation.
• Familiarity with containerised apps and cloud environments.
• Capability to analyse logs to identify root cause.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ownership mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple investigations effectively.

Responsibilities

• Own support cases from triage to resolution, meeting priorities and SLAs.
• Troubleshoot application, APIs, authentication, databases, networking, and deployment infra.
• Analyse logs, HTTP requests/responses, errors, and configuration to develop hypotheses.
• Reproduce issues and establish expected vs. actual behaviour.
• Determine whether issues are product, configuration, infra, data, integration, or defects.
• Provide clear, technically accurate troubleshooting guidance and workarounds.
• Troubleshoot REST API integrations using Postman or curl.
• Assist with authentication and SSO integrations (SAML, enterprise IdPs).
• Collaborate with Engineering on defects and escalations with evidence.
• Create and maintain troubleshooting guides and runbooks.
