Arena Staffing has partnered with a confidential, well-established manufacturer in the Greater San Diego area that is looking for a Technical Support Engineer to support end users and help maintain the cloud-based platforms that keep the business running. Role snapshot
- Title: Technical Support Engineer
- Location: Greater San Diego Area, on‑site 5 days per week with occasional travel between local sites
- Schedule: Full‑time, exempt
- Compensation: $70,000 to $85,000 base (DOE), with stretch up to $100,000 for candidates with a relevant degree, coding experience, and working knowledge of AI and LLM tools

Your mission
You will serve on the front lines of the technology team, delivering high‑quality support to end users while helping maintain and improve the cloud‑based platforms that drive the business. You will be the kind of trusted technical partner that employees want to call first.
A strong first 90 days includes:
- Getting fluent in the existing tech stack and ticketing workflow
- Building trust with end users through responsive, clear, and patient support
- Identifying early opportunities to improve documentation, self‑help resources, and process consistency
- Becoming a reliable go‑to across multiple sites for hardware, software, and connectivity issues
What you will own
Service desk and end‑user support
- Triage, resolve, or escalate Service Desk requests within SLA
- Provide support by phone, electronically, and in person
- Diagnose and resolve desktop hardware, software, and connectivity issues across Windows and Mac environments
Systems and infrastructure
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain endpoints, peripherals, and related systems in a multi‑site networked environment
- Support core platforms including Google Workspace, Okta (SSO, IDP, MFA), and Active Directory (DNS, DHCP, Group Policy)
- Manage imaging, software packaging, and asset records
Documentation and process
- Maintain accurate records across ticketing, asset management, and license tracking
- Create and improve internal and external IT documentation, including how‑to guides and self‑help resources
- Contribute ideas to improve service delivery and team workflows
Coverage and collaboration
- Participate in the on‑call rotation
- Travel to other local company sites as needed
- Partner cross‑functionally to make sure technology supports the business cleanly
Must‑have requirements
- 2+ years providing hardware, peripheral, connectivity, and application support in a networked Microsoft Windows environment, OR an Associate degree in Computer Technology (or related field) plus 1 year of relevant experience
- Hands‑on experience installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining current Windows and Mac OS versions
- Working knowledge of Google Workspace, Okta, and Active Directory (DNS, DHCP, Group Policy)
- Experience supporting users in a multi‑site environment using a Service Desk ticketing system
- Strong customer service mindset, clear communicator, organized, and detail‑oriented
- Comfortable participating in an on‑call rotation and traveling locally to other sites
Nice‑to‑have requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Working knowledge of AI tools and LLM applications in an IT support or productivity context
- Scripting and automation experience (PowerShell, BASH, or Python)
- RMM platform experience and exposure to documentation tools like ITGlue
- Backup and secure access platform experience
