Job summary

Opportunity

As a Software Support Engineer, you will engage directly with our Enterprise customers across Airbyte Cloud and on-premise or cloud-based Airbyte Enterprise installations. You will act as the user’s advocate, working with support, product, and engineering teams to prioritize improvements, troubleshoot issues, develop workarounds, and create knowledge base articles.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide exceptional email and Zoom support to Enterprise customers, including those with engineering backgrounds.
  • Collaborate with engineers to identify, replicate, and resolve issues.
  • Engage in automation, development, and engineering projects as needed.
  • Document solutions to enhance our Knowledge Base for internal and external use.
  • Act as a liaison between users and product/engineering teams, communicating feedback effectively.
What You’ll Need
  • 5+ years as a Layer 2 Technical Support Engineer or similar role supporting developers, or 3+ years in Data Engineering, Data Analysis, DevOps, or QA.
  • Proficiency in Kubernetes, Docker, containerized environments.
  • Proficiency in Python, APIs, SQL, NoSQL, database management.
  • Familiarity with networking technologies like TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP(S), proxies, and tools such as tcpdump, Wireshark, Charles Proxy, Fiddler.
  • Additional skills in Java, Kotlin, CI/CD, GitHub, ELT workflows, data orchestration, and observability tools are a plus.
  • Experience working closely with engineering teams or developer customers.
  • Effective communication skills with enterprise customers, including documenting changes.
  • Adaptability, organizational skills, and a growth mindset.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work Tue-Sat or Sun-Thu shifts.

Location
  • Remote in Ireland
Salary
  • €57,000 - €68,000 base salary plus equity. Benefits vary by region outside the U.S.
