Job summary

Atlas Copco Comptec LLC in Houston, TX is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to provide expert assistance on centrifugal compressors and turbomachinery. You will be the primary technical resource for customers and field teams, addressing complex issues with prompt, well-documented solutions.

You will collaborate across Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and vendors, handling CRM tickets, corrective actions, and warranty support while seeking ongoing improvements in field service

Qualifications

• 10+ years in field service, technical support, or maintenance of centrifugal compressors or turbomachinery.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.
• Excellent communication, prioritization, and problem-solving abilities in urgent situations.
• Hands-on experience with centrifugal compressors, turboexpanders, or large rotating equipment.
• Experience with SAP, CRM systems, and oil & gas or process industries.

Responsibilities

Your role

As a Technical Support Engineer, your mission is to provide expert technical support for centrifugal compressors and rotating equipment, helping customers and field service personnel quickly resolve complex technical issues and maintain reliable equipment performance. You will report to the Field Service Manager.

You will

• Serve as a primary technical resource for customers and field service personnel, providing troubleshooting and support for centrifugal compressors and turbomachinery systems.
• Investigate and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and controls-related issues while ensuring timely, accurate, and well-documented solutions.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, vendors, and product companies to drive issue resolution and support customer needs.
• Manage technical support activities, including documentation, corrective actions, root cause analysis, CRM tickets, and warranty-related support.
• Identify opportunities to improve field service processes, technical training, and customer support capabilities across the organization.

To succeed, you will need

• Strong troubleshooting skills involving mechanical systems, controls, and electrical components.
• Excellent communication, prioritization, and problem-solving abilities with the ability to support customers during urgent situations.
• Hands‑on experience with centrifugal compressors, turboexpanders, or other large rotating equipment.
• Experience with SAP, CRM systems, and the oil & gas or process industries.
