Job description

Technical Strategy and Special Projects Lead

Paradromics is building a brain-computer interface (BCI) platform that records brain activity at the neuron level to enable treatments through AI-decoded brain data. Our first clinical application, the Connexus BCI, aims to help people who are unable to speak due to ALS, spinal cord injuries, and stroke to communicate with digital devices. The capabilities of our platform extend to diverse neurological conditions.

About the Role

As Technical Strategy & Special Projects Lead, you will serve as a high-trust extension of the CEO—owning critical internal initiatives that span technical, operational, and strategic domains. You will represent the CEO in advanced research and technical meetings, ensuring Paradromics’ priorities are championed and progress is rigorously tracked.

You’ll drive complex cross-functional projects end-to-end: managing thought leadership pieces with the CTO, partnering with the EA to the CEO to design leadership offsite agendas tied to big-picture objectives, and serving as the field liaison for clinical trial launches in new geographies. This role requires deep STEM expertise, exceptional written and oral communication, and disciplined project management.

If there’s a specialized hiring sprint, a manufacturing due diligence effort, or a workflow overhaul no one else is equipped to lead—this will be yours. Your impact will come from imposing structure on ambiguity and driving high-value initiatives to completion.

Responsibilities
  • Represent the CEO in high-level technical, clinical, and research meetings, advancing company priorities and documenting clear outcomes.
  • Take ownership of strategic projects such as thought leadership editorials, journal letters, and technical presentations.
  • Collaborate with the Office of the CEO to develop the strategic content and purpose of leadership offsites and internal meetings.
  • Act as on-the-ground liaison for clinical trial launches in new countries, ensuring seamless coordination across partners and internal teams.
  • Lead unusual or complex internal projects, including:
    • Due diligence on manufacturing or quality upgrades
    • Workflow redesigns and operational improvements
    • Specialized hiring initiatives beyond typical recruiting channels
    • Maintain rigorous tracking of commitments, deadlines, and action items across executive priorities.
Required Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline required; advanced degree (MS, PhD) strongly preferred.
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years in a demanding, high-performance environment (such as startup operations, technical program management, engineering consulting, or equivalent).
  • Strong STEM foundation with the ability to engage confidently in technical discussions and distill complex concepts into actionable plans.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; able to craft high-impact narratives for both technical and executive audiences.
  • Proven project management skills, with a track record of successfully driving multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • "Always on" mentality: thrives in dynamic, high-trust settings with evolving priorities.
  • High emotional intelligence and discretion; trusted to handle sensitive strategy, personnel, and operational matters.
Culture and Fit

We’re seeking someone intellectually curious, unflappable, and driven—someone who sees ambiguity as opportunity. This is a rare chance to operate at the strategic and technical heart of a company reshaping the future of neuroscience and neurotechnology.

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must have a valid passport and be willing to travel domestically or internationally on short notice.
