Job summary

LUMA Energy in San Juan, Puerto Rico, is seeking an entry-level engineer to apply technical knowledge to support safe operations and customer satisfaction. You will work on reviewing specs, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams, and providing basic field support.

The role involves preparing work plans, assisting with budgeting, developing diagrams and equipment specs, and contributing to QA/QC processes. Travel up to 30% may be required, with potential extended hours during storm events.

Qualifications

• BS in a technical field or BS Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited college.
• Zero to two years of professional engineering experience.
• Master’s degree in a technical discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs assignments in specialized areas requiring technical expertise.
• Reviews functional specifications for completeness and consideration of practical limitations.

• May support the review of technical documentation.
• Supports basic work planning, coordination, budgeting, and cost estimating.
• May support the development and updates of single line diagrams, and equipment specifications for engineering review and approval.
• Supports material procurement.

• Provides basic technical support to field and construction groups.
• Utilizes and improves processes and standards.
• Provides reporting, including presentations to work groups and management.
• Position may be required to work extended hours including major storm restoration work and associated drills as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
