Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Technical Specialist to troubleshoot, disassemble, repair and service ground equipment on-site at our facilities. The role emphasizes safety, quality workmanship, and strict adherence to procedures.

Ideal candidates have an HS diploma or GED, diesel experience, the ability to read diagrams, and flexibility to work rotating shifts including weekends. A CDL may be required depending on assignment, with potential DOT testing.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Minimum two years of training or job experience in welding, machinery, electrical and/or pneumatics.
• Valid driver's license; ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays.
• Diesel experience required.
• Possess company tool requirements.
• CDL may be required depending on assignment; if so, DOT drug testing applies.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting, disassembly, checking and cleaning, repairing, replacing, testing, adjusting, assembling, installing, servicing, fabricating, or towing ground equipment.
• Certify quality of workmanship by signing mechanical releases on field work.
• May handle parts order, inventory, and distribution on or off airport facilities.
• Complete forms and communicate with Company personnel per procedures.
• Monitor site security and report breaches per security plan.
• Follow site security procedures for assigned warehouse and operations.

Job description

• A Technical Specialist is a non-licensed person who possesses special skills which are of a value to the Company in a particular subject or field as designated by management.
• The work of the Technical Specialist classification includes the following: troubleshooting, disassembly, checking and cleaning, repairing, replacing, testing, adjusting, assembling, installing, servicing, fabricating, or towing any ground equipment while in service or while undergoing overhaul and/or modification.
• Certifies for quality of workmanship, including signing mechanical releases on field work.
• May be assigned to order, receive, inventory, secure or disburse parts and supplies on or off airport facilities.
• May have other maintenance personnel assigned to assist in completing an assignment.
• Completes forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures and will communicate with other Company personnel as required in a manner designated by the Company.
• Remain cognizant of WFS staff, security contractors, and visitors’ activities and report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance with the site security plan to managers or via the WFS whistleblower program.
• Comply with WFS site security procedures for assigned warehouse and other operations.

Requirements

• HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a minimum of two (2) years documented training and/or job experience in the areas of welding, machinery, electrical and/or pneumatics.
• Valid driver's license, ability to work rotating shifts including weekends (ie. Friday, Saturday, Sunday), holidays, and days-off.
• Ability to read and work from diagrams as required.
• Diesel experience required.
• Must possess minimum established Company tool requirements.
• May be required to possess Commercial Driver's License (CDL) depending on assignment. If CDL is required, then the position is subject to random Department of Transportation (DOT) drug testing.

Demonstrates expertise in troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing ground equipment, with a strong focus on quality workmanship and compliance with safety and security procedures. Proficient in reading diagrams and working with various mechanical systems, including diesel engines.
