Job summary

Bluewater Battery Logistics seeks a Technical Solutions Engineer to enable the Renewable Site Solutions team in solving equipment replacement challenges for large-scale energy projects.

You will identify compatible alternatives, support complex repowering, and collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Procurement to meet customer requirements and ensure seamless integration with site infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent technical experience.
  • 3–7+ years supporting utility-scale renewable energy projects.
  • Experience with solar, BESS, transformers, and high-voltage equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to identify replacement equipment and evaluate compatibility.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working across multiple teams and with external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; CRM/ERP experience a plus.
  • Willingness to travel for customer meetings and site visits.

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain Bluewater's centralized equipment database with accurate specifications and inventory records.
  • Identify direct replacements and engineered substitutes for renewable energy equipment.
  • Build and maintain technical datasheets, manuals, and drawings library.
  • Support procurement by validating equipment specs and aiding sourcing decisions.
  • Coordinate with OEMs, manufacturers, and site owners for documentation and questions.
  • Prioritize internal technical requests and track progress across teams.
  • Develop compatibility matrices and replacement guidance for obsolete equipment.
  • Provide technical support for customer proposals and complex repowering projects.
  • Train Sales and Procurement teams on equipment capabilities and differentiators.
  • Monitor market trends and emerging technologies to identify replacements.

The Opportunity

Bluewater is looking to bring on a Technical Solutions Engineer to enable the Renewable Site Solutions team to solve renewable energy equipment replacement challenges. This includes identifying compatible alternative s when OEM parts are obsolete or discontinued, recommending equivalent products across manufacturers, and supporting complex repowering projects involving solar panels, battery energy storage systems (BESS), inverters, transformers, breakers, switchgears, and other electrical components.

This is a highly collaborative role that not only helps drive sales conversion but also strengthens long-term relationships with site owners and operators who value technical problem-solving and product availability. In this role,you’llpartner with Sales and Operations teams to understand customer requirements, reviewequipmentand project specifications, and recommend technical solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing site infrastructure and electrical systems.

Requirements
What You'll Own
  • Own andmaintainBluewater's centralized equipment database, ensuring technical specifications, documentation, compatibility information, and inventory recordsremainaccurateand up to date

  • Serve asBluewater's primarytechnical resourcebyidentifyingdirect replacements, equivalent products, and engineeredsubstitutesolutions for renewableenergy equipment

  • Build andmaintaina comprehensive library of product datasheets, manuals, certifications, technical drawings, and other supporting documentation

  • Support Procurement byvalidatingequipment specifications, evaluating technical compatibility, andassistingwith sourcing decisions

  • Coordinate with OEMs, manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, and site owners to obtain technical documentation and resolve product-related questions

  • Manage and prioritize internal technical requests while tracking progress to ensuretimelyresponses across Sales, Procurement, and Operations

  • Develop equipment compatibility matrices, cross-reference guides, and replacement recommendations for obsolete,discontinued, and legacy equipment

  • Provide technical support for customer proposals, complex repowering projects, and strategic sales opportunities

  • Train and support Sales and Procurement teams on equipment capabilities, technical differentiators, and product applications

  • Monitor market trends, product availability, equipment obsolescence, and emerging technologies to proactivelyidentify replacement solutions

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, e,quivalent technical experience, or relevant industry/product experience

  • 3-7+ years of experience supporting utility-scale renewable energy projects through an EPC, Operations and Maintenance (O&M), equipment distributor, manufacturer, or similar technical organization

  • Strong familiarity with utility-scale renewable energy equipment, including solar panels, inverters, BESS, transformers, and high-voltage electrical equipment

  • Experience identifying replacement equipment, evaluating product compatibility, or supporting equipment sourcing is highly preferred

  • Highly organized, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • The ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across multiple teams and with external stakeholders

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

  • Experience with CRM or ERP systems is a plus

  • Willingness to travel occasionally for customer meetings, site visits, and industry events
