About The Role

As a CBRE Technical Sr Consultant, you will be responsible for providing advanced engineering operations and strategic direction to technicians, vendors, and subcontractors. You will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of services, preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems. The role will help stabilize and strengthen the operating model by translating field observations, CMMS data, incident learnings and client requirements into clear actions, standards, coaching, and measurable improvements.

This role is intentionally hands-on and influence-based. It is designed to help the account stabilize priority operational concerns, translate data and field observations into clear improvement actions, and support a repeatable engineering operating model aligned to Client expectations.

What You'll Do
  • Provide technical SME support for Client engineering operations, with a focus on reliability, asset lifecycle management, CMMS / work order quality, PM discipline, incident/RCA follow-through, and technical governance.
  • Lead practical problem solving for complex engineering operations issues, including recurring asset failures, PM/job plan gaps, asset data inaccuracies, criticality miscoding, and inconsistent work order documentation.
  • Partner with account leadership to define and execute stabilization priorities across asset data, work order / preventive maintenance execution, technical training, incident management, and governance.
  • Coach building engineers, supervisors, and vendor partners on troubleshooting, documentation standards, root cause discipline, safe work practices, and Client operational expectations.
  • Serve as the account technical integrator across MEP systems, BMS / controls, CMMS, asset tagging, critical systems, vendor scopes, and CBRE platform / SME resources.
  • Review and improve preventive / predictive maintenance strategies using criticality, asset condition, service history, manufacturer guidance, business operating constraints, and Client standards.
  • Provide technical oversight of work order prioritization, PM/job plan execution, closeout quality, evidence capture, vendor documentation, and corrective action tracking.
  • Use CMMS and asset data to identify bad actors, recurring issue patterns, data-quality gaps, possible capital planning needs, PM optimization opportunities, and reliability improvement actions.
  • Establish and maintain an asset data / tagging quality control approach, including required fields, criticality validation, exception tracking, and alignment with account standards.
  • Support planning for maintenance windows, shutdowns, MOPs, and business-impacting work so activity is sequenced, documented, risk-reviewed, and aligned to client operational constraints.
  • Support incident response, RCA preparation, post-event reviews, and completion of corrective actions to reduce repeat events and rebuild client confidence.
  • Prepare clear, executive-ready summaries of technical risks, decisions, progress, actions, and support needs for CBRE and Client stakeholders.
  • Coordinate internal platform SMEs and account leaders to obtain specialized support for BMS / controls, mechanical, electrical, reliability, asset lifecycle, incident management, and technical training needs.
  • Help build the account technical capability plan, including onboarding support, competency assessment inputs, recurring training topics, and knowledge transfer for new / existing engineers.
  • Promote a risk-based operating model aligned to the CBRE Shield / Ops Review pillars: Administration, Training & Qualification, Operations & Maintenance, Planning / Analytics / Engineering, and Continuous Improvement.
  • Serve as an onsite technical resource of electrical infrastructure systems and equipment, with an emphasis on practical field operation
  • Plan resource, author or approve work procedures to cover electrical troubleshooting, repair, retrofit, and maintenance activities, with an emphasis on assessing & mitigating personnel and critical systems and operational risk
  • Lead and/or participate in root-cause analysis activities in area of expertise
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred with 5-8 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Preferred experience in critical facilities, corporate headquarters / campus operations, financial services, central plant, BMS / controls, CMMS, asset management, maintenance planning, or reliability-focused engineering operations.
  • Prior shift manager, supervisory, lead technician, commissioning, reliability, or technical program experience preferred.
  • Ability to influence technicians, supervisors, vendors, account leaders, and client stakeholders without relying solely on direct reporting authority.
  • Strong RCA, CMMS / work order analytics, maintenance planning, asset condition, and risk-prioritization skills.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with D365, Maximo, IFM Hub, SI7, Power BI, BMS / controls platforms, or similar systems is preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset and a structured, detail-oriented approach to action tracking, audit evidence, data cleanup, and stakeholder communication.
  • Ability to interpret asset / WO trends, aging, completeness, PM compliance, recurring failures, and lifecycle / capital planning implications.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of this role, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Expected travel approximately 25-30% to support site reviews, account launches, technical assessments, training, and client / stakeholder meetings.
  • Preferred certifications or qualifications may include trade license, engineering degree, CMRP, FMP, CEM, reliability, commissioning, BMS / controls, electrical safety, or critical environment training, depending on local requirements and candidate background.
