Job summary

Arktura LLC seeks a Technical Services Specialist to provide technical expertise and field support for Arktura systems, advising customers, contractors, and internal teams on product specifications, installation methods, and issue resolution.

The role contributes to successful project execution and sales growth through practical installation solutions, training support, and actionable feedback to product development and engineering.

Qualifications

  • Technical training or certification or hands-on experience in a relevant discipline.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field preferred.
  • 5–7 years of experience in construction, architectural products, lighting/electrical systems, or related field.
  • Hands-on field experience supporting installation, commissioning, or troubleshooting.
  • Experience with architectural systems and/or lighting/electrical components preferred.
  • Experience working with contractors, installers, and project teams on job sites preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert on installation methods, product applications, and system performance.
  • Provide pre- and post-sale technical support to sales teams, customers, contractors, and project managers.
  • Analyze installation challenges and recommend practical, cost-effective solutions in field and office environments.
  • Review shop drawings, specifications, and installation instructions to ensure constructability and product alignment.
  • Deliver training to internal teams, contractors, and customers on system installation and best practices.
  • Support product development and continuous improvement by identifying field issues, trends, and enhancement opportunities.
  • Participate in job site visits to troubleshoot issues, validate installation methods, and support project success.
  • Assist in resolving claims, complaints, and field performance issues.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with architects, designers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to support project execution and customer satisfaction.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the Technical Services Specialist provides technical expertise and field support for Arktura systems by advising customers, contractors, and internal teams on product specifications, installation methods, and issue resolution. The role contributes to successful project execution and sales growth through practical installation solutions, training support, and actionable feedback to product development and engineering.

What Will Make You Successful
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, specifications, installation instructions, and assembly details.
  • Working knowledge of construction practices, installation methods, and jobsite coordination.
  • Hands‑on ability to troubleshoot product installation, fit, finish, alignment, and system performance issues.
  • Understanding of architectural products (ceilings, walls, facades, specialty systems).
  • Familiarity with lighting systems and controls (DMX, DALI, 0–10V, TRIAC, ELV).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and lighting control documentation.
  • Knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code) requirements.
  • General understanding of manufacturing and product application in the built environment.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Ability to train and educate customers, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Strong customer service orientation and responsiveness.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate cross‑functionally (Sales, Engineering, Operations).
  • Adaptability and situational judgment in both office and field environments.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills, including ability to manage multiple projects or site issues.
  • Attention to detail in reviewing drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to work independently with moderate supervision while exercising sound judgment.
Physical and Mental Demands

Employees are regularly required to talk or hear, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs is required. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
  • Office Environment: Professional office setting with standard office equipment. No PPE required.
  • Plant Environment: Manufacturing setting with potential exposure to extreme temperatures, uneven surfaces, tools, and intermittent loud noises. Required PPE includes hard hat (when required), safety glasses, earplugs, steel toe/composite boots, and fall protection.
Qualifications
  • Technical training, trade certification, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands‑on experience in a relevant discipline.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field (preferred).
  • 5–7 years of experience in construction, architectural products, lighting/electrical systems, or related field.
  • Hands‑on field experience supporting installation, commissioning, or troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting architectural systems and/or lighting/electrical components (preferred).
  • Experience working directly with contractors, installers, and project teams on job sites (preferred).
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Journeyman Electrician license or electrical apprenticeship experience.
  • Lift certification (e.g., scissor lift, boom lift).
  • General adherence to safe jobsite practices and PPE requirements.
